Celebrating Student Success
Volleyball Tournament Success
Congratulations to our volleyball athletes and coaches on an outstanding weekend of competition at the Mandela Volleyball Tournament. The boys' team captured the tournament championship, finishing undefeated and demonstrating tremendous skill, teamwork, and determination throughout the tournament
Our girls' team also had an impressive tournament run, advancing to the semifinals and competing with great effort, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout the weekend. Both teams represented Mandela with pride and showcased the strength of our volleyball teams this season.
Events of this scale are only possible because of the many individuals who volunteer their time and energy behind the scenes. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the numerous staff and student volunteers who helped create a first-class experience for our visiting teams and spectators.
Robotics and Speech Team Achievements
We would also like to recognize our Robotics and Speech teams, both of whom proudly represented Mandela on Friday evening.
Mandela hosted a Robotics Scrimmage, providing students with an opportunity to test their designs, collaborate with peers, and further develop their engineering, programming, and problem-solving skills in a competitive environment.
At the same time, our Speech Team delivered an impressive performance at the Ernest Manning Tournament, earning a number of second-place finishes. Their success reflects countless hours of preparation, confidence, critical thinking, and effective communication.
Calgary Trades & Technologies Collegiate (CTTC) – Semester 2 Opportunity
Students interested in exploring careers in the skilled trades are encouraged to consider attending the Calgary Trades & Technologies Collegiate (CTTC) for Semester 2. Through hands-on learning experiences and specialized programming not currently offered at Mandela, CTTC provides students with an opportunity to gain valuable skills and industry exposure while continuing their high school education.
Interested students and families are encouraged to review the program information and indicate their interest as soon as possible.
