What is a Success Advisor?

The Role of a Success Advisor

Your Success Advisor is a person in the building that can be a support and assist you in many ways.  We can help you with personal/social issues, career decision making, educational advice, health problems, and extra support.

  • Personal/Social – We want to help students learn to cope with the demands in their lives.  This might include issues relating to sexuality, grief and loss, suicide, family issues, relationships, sexual health, loneliness, sadness, financial problems, health concerns, school difficulties, stress, anxiety, and substance abuse.
  • Extra Support – If there is something going on in your life that requires some extra support, your Success Advisor will help you and your family get connected with someone that will be able to help.
  • Post Secondary Support - Ensure students have the courses they need for post-Secondary.
  • Educational Advising – Along with your connect teacher and to make sure that you are getting the most out of your high school experience, your Success Advisor is here to help you with picking courses, program planning, post-secondary information, and study skills.
  • Health Problems – If you are experiencing health problems that may affect your school performance, it’s important that the school is aware of the problem so that we can effectively support you if an issue comes up.
